  1. How long is one work session typically?
    • I recommend that students book their lessons in 1.5 hour chunks. As covered in the Educational Emphases section, this allows for two full study cycles of 45 minutes, including a check-in at the start and a 5-minute break halfway through. I am willing to accept 1 hour bookings if 1.5 is not possible for the student.
  2. Where did you teach?
    • I taught in the Fremont Union High School District, mostly at Cupertino and Homestead High Schools. Learn more in the Experience section.
  3. Buddhist priest?
    • That’s a long story that I’m happy to share during our first call.
  4. How do you process payments?
    • This project is still small. Therefore, payment is currently accepted through Venmo or Zelle.
  5. How will I schedule work sessions after the initial consultation?
    • This project is still small and I intend for it to remain that way. As such, my students will be able to see my work calendar and select times with at least 24 hours notice. I will endeavor to keep the calendar as up-to-date as possible; scheduling more than a day in advance will help the calendar remain reliable.
  6. Which online platform do you use for your lessons?
    • At the moment, I use jitsi. I send a temporary link to the student a few minutes before the lesson and they can join from any browser. Please see the 'Why support me?' section for how I select the apps I use.
  7. Do you provide life coaching?
    • I do not have a certification for life or any other type of coaching. However, if you believe you or your child would benefit from consulting me based on what I’ve shared here or what I emphasize in our work sessions, I am happy to listen and provide insight to the best of my ability.
  8. Do you write letters of recommendation?
    • I’ve written many letters of recommendation as a Spanish teacher and Physics teacher. In certain circumstances, a tutor could be an appropriate choice for a recommender. I do not write all my students letters of recommendation, but I have enthusiastically written many in the past.
  9. How much do you charge?
